12 Ways to Improve Your Work-life Balance
Many of you have just entered into the work life or some are waiting to join, so, in this crucial time it is very important to all of you to maintain the work-life balance properly.
Unfortunately,
many of us can’t properly see the line between our work and personal life,
so, we can’t balance both which leads to face struggle in both the lives.
Why maintaining work-life balance is so important?
Every
one of us should be aware of our life and work space, and eventually we
have to know why it is so important to create a balance between our work and personal life.
Work-life balance is a state of life where someone prioritize equally his or her work and
personal life. It is important to maintain a work-life balance because it makes
you more productive, positive and lower your stress in both the segment.
Maintaining
a work-life balance is important to maintain your mental and physical health and well-beings. If you are not mentally stress free or physically fit, then it
is impossible to lead a happy life.
Remember,
you only get one life, so don’t waste it just by leaning to one side, either
work or personal life. You have to balance both to achieve your goal.

1. Categorize your work
On a
very busy schedule, you may have lots of task to do, then it is better to prioritize
your works. Categorize them in different channels like,
Urgent
and very important
Urgent
but not important
Important
but not urgent
Now
you got a ground to work further balancing your work and life. Finish the
urgent work first and then give yourself time for your personal life too.

2. Know your peak time to work
Every
one of us had different working time, some of us are morning person and others
are not like that.
So,
identify your best time to work. For example, I am a night person and I do
finish my work by night before going to bed.
Therefore,
complete your most of the work in your peak time to balance your work-life, and
it is important to stick on it.

Providing
yourself a ‘me time’ is not so bad, rather it helps to rejuvenate your mind to
focus on your work better. Cutting yourself out from the world for some time is
not that bad for you.

between your work and personal life. Don’t do things as much that can harm your
daily life.

4. Manage your time
Maintain
a data sheet to manage your time or a to-do list. In this list you can create
your activity chart that include your important work as well as your personal
matters like party, health check up etc.
This is
for example; don’t think that you have no time for your friend’s birthday party
just because of your unfinished work. Manage your time to finish the work, but
never be absent on those parties.

5. Make a comfortable workplace
To maintain
a balance between your work and personal life, a comfortable cozy workplace is
much needed.
Think
that you have to work for long but your space is not just comfortable for you, then
you can’t give your 100% effort to do this work.
Invest
on some equipment that gives you everlasting comfort like, wheeled chair,
laptop table, air conditioner etc.

6. Maintain a healthy lifestyle
A healthy
lifestyle is the key to balance your work-life. An unhealthy life can’t give you
the proper satisfaction to do your work perfectly on time.
Always
prioritize your health. Don’t skip exercise due to excuse of your work. If you
can’t finish it on time, then also don’t skip your exercise or walking or
running.
Eat a
lot of healthy foods, which gives you energy, not the fast foods or oily foods
that driven your energy on another way by upsetting your stomach.
Timely
go to sleep and take proper rest to energize your body and mind to finish your half-done
work tomorrow.
Just not
only you have to take care of your body but your mind too, with a mind full of
anxiety and depressions you never be succeed on your work platform. So, take
care of your emotional or mental health also.

7. Take a break
Short
breaks are very necessary in between your works to maintain a healthy work-life
balance.
Give yourself
a tea break, a lunch break or an evening break. Don’t just only sit and work
and goes on for a long time, take a break after each 15 or 20 minutes of sitting.
It helps
you to rejuvenate or refresh your mind, and do then a light stretching to avoid
joint pain in the body; it also helps to focus you better in your work.

8. Have a holiday
Just taking
a short break from your rigorous work every day is not enough, if you want to maintain
a balance between your work and personal life, then you have to go for a vacation
occasionally.
When possible, finish your work and enjoy a long weekend or plan a trip to nearby

that, you will come back with a fresh mind that will help you to finish your work
in less time.

9. Prioritize your family/ friends/ relationships
Everything
is important in your life, friends, family, your relationship, everything. Don’t

without the worry about your tomorrow’s job. It can really helps you to improve
your work-life balance.

10. Leave work at workplace
Leaving
work at workplace is very important to maintain a balance between your work and
life. Most of you carry your unfinished work to home and it spoil your home environment.

if possible commit yourself not to carry the work to home. Create an unwritten
rule for ‘no work at home’. As well as this point is not valid for nowadays,
because, work from home is the main theme now.

11. Smart work is encouraging than hard work
This is
the technological era. You should work smart here, not hard. Learn about the
uses of some useful technology like skype, to lower your pressure to arrange
everything manually.

some notes or to-do list you can use your mobile instead of your dairy and pen
to save some time. Time management is very essential to work smart.

12. Create boundaries at work place
Create
some boundaries for yourself and your colleagues. Make sure that you are not
available all the time, after a particular time you should off the office work.
It is
better to use a separate mobile for office, which you can shut down after work.
They should be aware of that you have some personal place also.

boundary for yourself too, regarding when you want to do your work and after
which time you should off it. It is necessary to know when to stop to balance
your work-life situations.

there is no such perfect schedule, just try to maintain one. Be realistic, do
